It will then be discussed about the elements of a good recovery session and the purpose of each element. Then I will discuss which method of recovery was better and why. The first most important element of a good recovery is hydration, after a game you should be replacing electrolytes which are lost from sweat and water to stay hydrated. After hydration you should do an active movement recovery such as things like walking, then your stretches like high-knees, butt flicks, toe touches etc, to release the remaining lactic acid. The third most important element is stretching, static stretching should be done to prevent injury and to reduce soreness. The next important element of recovery to do after a game is to eat food, preferably food with carbs, to restore energy and protein to repair muscles. …show more content…
After it is really important to rest, preferably 10-12 hours of interrupted sleep, between 10:30pm - 4am is when the average person gets deep sleep and your body gets the most rest. After you wake from rest it is then important for injury treatment, RICER is a good process to use on any injuries so you are ok for your next game or training, RICER stands for roller, ice, compression, elevation and rest. The final element for a good recovery is mental downtime, this means to not do any physical activities, maybe to watch a movie or play cards

As an athlete myself, we sometimes feel the pressure to get right back to work on the court or the field in fear of losing momentum or missing practice plays, being replaced, being made to look weak. A person who sustains a head injury in a sport should be benched until a medical advisor clears them to play again. If someone remains in the game and has sustained an injury, there is a great possibility that they will just make it worse. The possible long term effects of an injured player getting back in the game before they give the injury time to heal aren't worth the chance to win a game, no matter how important the game. Putting too much stress on an injury is the easiest way to make it permanent, giving it time to heal is the safest way to make it go away.…

It was the most intense match I ever had, we were down three goals to nothing, with 10 minutes left on the clock, the whole team was on the ground, we were all out of breath, we had abandoned the game. You could hear the sound of our coach shouting with his eldritch accent that nobody understood, you could also smell the smell of nature like you were in a forest. That night was the night of my tenth birthday, my whole whole family were there, my parents and my siblings. When I looked over at my family's faces, I immediately knew that was their ashamed faces, so I immediately jumped up and starting running towards the ball, because I knew that I will go nowhere if I just stayed on the ground and just backed down.…
