Studies show that teaching aids that involve technology increase concentration levels and attendance of students. (Edudemic) One third of teenage students in 2008 had at least a cell phone or other handheld device and the number continue to arise. (Hamilton 96) According to Naomi Gittens, many states are starting to repeal the laws that regulate cell phones. (Delisio 14) Schools should allow cell phones and other technology in class, because technology create a safer, more connected, and productive environment.

With the presence of internet-connected electronics, students can choose their own research topics more frequently, since there is a wealth of information on the internet to choose from compared to textbook which only have a limited amount of topics and information about them. (Fisher 64-65) The information that is presented through tech is updated daily by the internet versus textbooks that could be a few years old. (Fisher 63) Having current facts provides the best knowledge available for a particular field.
Cell phones will cause an unsafe environment during emergencies. In events like Columbine, lives were saved because of the communication technology and being able to warn others of danger. The police can still be called if a landline is not available. (Delisio 12-13) New inventions and devices can help eliminate problems associated with having too much communication. Some possible plans to prevent dangerous communication situations are radio devices that find cell signals, paint that stops calls and texts from being sent out/received, and using a device that jams cell phone lines.
