Children receive a broad education up through middle school in many subject groups: social studies, science, math, language arts, health, and physical education. These subjects help with academic success or physical health, but often leave children without proper safety training for electricity. Electrical wounds and burns hospitalize 2,400 kids annually on average due to playing with electrical appliances (Brenner, 2013). These injuries happen because children do not understand the dangers of electricity and the risks that accompany its use. Children centers sometimes implement programs to teach students about electrical safety, but leaflets are the major way of information distribution in these settings (Watson et al., 2001). In hopes of improving the ability of kids to learn information about electrical safety, this study looks into the effectiveness of verbal, class presentations.
In an effort to find the best method for presenting electrical safety information to a student, this study will assess verbal presentations for middle school students about electrical safety. How effective are verbal, class presentations for teaching middle school students information about electrical safety? A randomly selected middle school class will take a preliminary exam about electrical safety to measure their knowledge prior to an Electric Avenue Electric Safety presentation. The safety
