There are several types of hybrid vehicles (figure E) as well as several ways that they can be connected (Figure D). Parallel is when the battery is connected to the motor and the motor is connected in between the combustible engine and the transmission. Series is when the battery is connected to both the motor and the generator, while the generator connected to the engine. Parallel is slightly more efficient than series due to no generator. Also there as several types of hybrid vehicles with a combination of electric, combustible engine, and hydraulic systems embedded within the vehicle with Hydraulic-Electric Hybrid Vehicle being the most efficient of any of the multiple combinations resulting in seventy-five percent improvement from regular vehicles.
