On November 24, 1946, Eleanor Cowell had no idea that she gave birth to a person who would turn out to be one of the most notorious serial killers in the late 20th century. She would not be the one to raise her son, Theodore, though. She was only eighteen years old and was not married when she had him. Her parents decided to take the responsibility of raising Ted in order to hide Eleanor’s role of being an unmarried mother. Ted was told that Eleanor was really his sister and that her parents were his as well. Ted never thought anything about the situation because it was all that he had known growing up. However, he did move with Eleanor to Washington a few years later. It was not until Ted was older that the truth came out about his family.

Unlike Dick though, Bundy did not leave his victims alive and allow them to go back to their normal way of life. Bundy made sure his victims were gone and that he could get as much use out of them as possible. With his attractive looks, seemingly nice personality, and charm with others, it was easy for Ted to find victims. The exact time period of when Bundy began his role as a serial killer is unknown. It is believed that he began his life as a murderer around 1974 while he was still in school. He graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of Washington and was beginning law school in Utah. While he was accomplishing many things throughout school and receiving awards, many people began disappearing. The people that were missing were all women and were last seen with a dark-haired man. That man was Ted Bundy. It seemed that this was the case in almost every area that Bundy was situated
