Task 1A
Almost everyone in Norway communicate online these days. It has grown every year since the internet was invented, and it got a huge boost when Facebook was invented. With services like Snapchat, Facebooks Messenger and Instagram it has almost reached the point where people communicate more online than offline.
Communicating online is in many ways easier than communicating face to face with someone. You get more time to think about what you are going to write, they can’t see your face and body language and it will most likely be less “awkward” than communicating in real life. Many people meet each other in real life and have nothing to talk about even though they talk a lot online.

From the view of being online it’s indeed very social. Sharing what you’re doing and chatting online makes leads people together. People know what their friends are doing, maybe they post a comment on picture which leads to a conversation? This is the bright side of social media and what I believe is the idea behind Facebook. Having a family group on Facebooks messenger makes the family interact more with each other, having a school class chat can make it easier for those who forgot their homework on school. In some ways, yes, but in many ways no. If someone can’t come up with something to talk about when they are with someone, they will most likely just be on their phone chatting with other people. You are not forced to talk with the one you are with when you are on your phone. Many may “escape” their conversation with someone in real life by being on their phone. This makes people less social. Some schools have forbidden the usage of cell phones during school breaks. They do this so the pupils will be more social and talk instead of being on their phones. This is a rather bold move in my opinion. It could be very good for the school, making the students look up and be social, but it could also infuriate the students, leading to arguments and making them simply not care about it.
To wrap things up, social media is here and is here to stay, no doubt about that. The question is how it is going to evolve through the years. It may evolve into something beautiful, but it could also become the exact opposite, only time will

Write of what parts of the text were the most difficult to read, and to identify how many times a passage was read before some understanding was achieved. This has been actually one of my best weeks so far, week 6. The topics were linear equations and non linear equations and I was able to remember about them so this time my brain was not that disconnected as normally is with algebra which made me happy. Do not get me wrong, I still had to read multiple times some sections that caused a little confusion, but again it was not that bad and at the end everything came back to me, this time it was a lot easy for me to figure out some of the book samples, except of course the ones that had multiple fractions I am still under pressure with those.…

As Standage reassures the reader: “their merits outweigh their drawbacks” (Standage). Both younger and older generations have different reasons for using social media platforms and the simplicity of how they work will only allow for more people to begin using these platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in the years to come. The biggest problem that will still be around is the fact that the users of social media platforms will keep the egotistic idea that the medium revolves around them when it really doesn’t after being re-evaluated. Social mediums will always be around whether it be for spreading knowledge or just simply wasting time instead of doing something more productive but the fact of the matter is that from both Ham and Standage’s articles, social mediums are only what people make them out to be from how they use Facebook or Twitter.…
