Chapter three will review and discuss literature around the nurses’ role in providing oral care to elderly stroke patients admitted to the hospital. Introducing good practice and the Logic model how good practice influence patient outcomes does. It will be explored as to how nurses can promote best practice in general medical and when working with elderly stroke patients. Using evidence to inform a possible area for service improvement. Professional standards and the impact on nursing practice and ability to uphold the NMC code of practice (2015) will be explored.
