The three main ideas I found interested are the need for emphasis to place on non-medical psychosocial needs of the resident at care facilities. The need for individualization of care for the elderly and the policymaker who oversees programs need to create fair policies. However, many time these changes get overlook and the need to contain cost is placed on the forefront. The non-medical needs of this population of seniors are just as important and vital as the medical needs. The elderly population are human and need to care for in a more humane manner. The elderly need to be treated as a whole person and not as a disease or disability.
The long-term care facility houses seniors plague with a variety of medical conditions ranging from depression to chronic illness such as Alzheimer and dementia disease. The information I gather from researching about the population of seniors at Warburg, help me to better understand the dynamics of the resources that are put in place to assist in the care of the population. Also, the information helps me to understand the need for individual care plan in the institutional setting.

The seniors always show appreciation for their care. Over time, professionals such as myself, formed a lasting relationship by providing the elderly with personal and emotional support Interacting with the elderly daily and engaging them in conversation help to stimulate their minds. This job is worth doing, knowing the positive impact I will bring to the lives of the elderly by encouraging and providing continuing support. They always say thanks for the services they receive. The elderly have unique ways to show humor and always like to share their wisdom in hope of encouraging others around
