There is much in life to reflect on especially for the elderly and different aspects of the care they either do or don’t receive in nursing facilities. According to the UN’s(United Nations) report elder abuse is, “A single, or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress to an older person.”(UN, Elder Abuse Article) Almost 70% of elderly suffer neglect from their caregivers at home or at a nursing home. The CDC reported that 41 in 1000 seniors suffer some type of abuse from neglect to sexual abuse. First, physical aggression / abuse or physical abuse — which are violent acts such as the use of physical force in an intentional, non-accidental manner, usually caused by a person in a power relation to the other, with the purpose of injuring, injuring or destroying the victim, leaving or not obvious marks on his body.
