Elda Feratovic Biography

My name is Elda Feratovic and I am a sophomore at St. Francis College. Being that it is my second year as an undergraduate, I have dedicated my studies in Biology in hope to later concentrate in the Nursing field. Throughout my lifetime, music has definitely developed deep into my soul in which I believe has been pondered by an indirect communication between distinct artists and myself in which I found messages within their songs. Being a college student, listening to music has nearly become a necessity along with an enjoyment due to the countless hours of studying and a major compulsion to temporarily clear my mind and enforce positive thoughts.
Growing up, my mother played Serbian music in the house so that I would better understand the language in which my parents spoke. This was useful in helping me learn my parent’s dialect in a much faster pace. Much of Serbian Music consists of instruments such as the flute, drum, and lute. Although I currently do not participate in playing any instrument, I have had a few experiences during my school years. Beauty, prettiness and enjoyment in music correspond with one another in being empathetic by making an individual feel an ambience of satisfaction one minute and a possible sense of emptiness the next. Although beauty, prettiness, and enjoyment may contain a certain similarity, there is not always prettiness in music. A convinced amount of individuals who listen to music such as hard rock, do not necessarily look for the prettiness within this type of music because it is rather meant to be more harsh, angry and aggressive .However, it is indeed according to the perception of the individual
