El Perico-Personal Narrative Essay

I had been in a terrible mood the last few days because the grape season was all most over and I didn't know where we were going to work. The screeching of the bird had stoped only for a moment, then the sound of the bird falling, then silence. It was soon replaced with screaming. Francisco ran out of the garage crying. He ran too the shed at the end of the vineyard. I then realized what I had done. I went back to the garage, took an aspirin, and went to bed. All though the night I had dreams of what happened and what I wish I did

They only had a canary that would sing in the same way Minnie Wright did back when she was young. Her neighbor Mrs. Hale stated “if there’d been years and years of nothing then a bird to sing to you, it would be awful—still, after the bird was still” (992). For example, this quote illustrates that her life changed after her bird was killed because it was the most important thing in her life since she didn’t have any children to look after. The sound of the gun resonated through the air and hundreds of feet pounded the ground. As I trampled the wet grass beneath my feet, I could feel my heart beating faster and my breaths getting shorter. It was my first Cross Country race of the season and I was entered into the Junior Varsity competition. As I kicked up my heels, I started to pass some girls from Conant High School and I could feel a sense of euphoria as I ran alongside the one-mile mark. I took a monstrous gulp of air into my lungs and started to feel the pain in my stomach grow.…

At the time of writing this note, my advance age of seventy-four should discourage me from sharing this perplexing odd feeling which I have always had from the age of about seven or nine years old. I was always the smallest and the youngest amongst all my friends and the one who tirelessly seek answers for weird questions. We were six friends playing football barefooted in front of my grandparents’ house in the village, Abodom. There was a sudden unusual humming sound in the sky, far beyond the birds’ flight range and there was something looking like a huge bird flying across the sky. All of us stopped playing and started staring and talking about that object.…
