Many people had gone to Opium to witness the funeral of El Patron, a 140-year-old man. This event was held on November 2, 2136. During this time, Opium was in a state of lockdown that had lasted 3 months. Nothing was to come into Opium, and nothing was to leave Opium. Matt, El Patron’s clone, managed to return to Opium to figure things out.
At the funeral, El Patron’s coffin was carried deep into a vast underground chamber lit with candles. Tam Lin, who is one of El Patron’s closest bodyguards, brought out a bottle of wine that El Patron was supposed to drink on his 150th birthday.
