In the Sierra Nevada mountains lies El Capitan a famous sight known at Yosemite park. On September 27, 2017, two climbers became the victims of one of the biggest rock falls seen at Yosemite, flying down the iconic mountain of El Capitan. One was 32 year old Andrew Foster. Mount St. Helens, located in Skamania County Washington State, had an eruption which caused the death of fifty-seven people on May 18, 1980. A cloud full of ash rose into the sky, turned everything dark, and made any given time of day appear as black as midnight across many of the north-western states. It was recommended that people not leave their homes and they were told to wear gauze masks to keep the ash from entering their lungs. The eruption also caused about one thousand miles of roads to close (including state highways), trains to be stopped, and it forced aircraft to land. The repairs for the roads alone cost hundreds of millions of dollars.…

The brisk trek through rough wilderness had taken its toll on the portly fog of a man. Now wheezing, he bowed low to prop up his arching frame on a knee high boulder on the side of the path. He watched with passive intrigue as giant sweat droplets fell to earth. Each one making a crater in the previously undisturbed soil carpeting the seldom used trail leading up to the Burbank overlook. He wanted nothing more than to feel the wind blow across his puffy face when he got to the top.…

After reading the support material, I can imagine how the people suffered this day (evening on Monday – March 12, 1770) when eleven guns were discharged. The British soldiers were looking to kill people, but Edward Archbald admonished Mr. Merchant to take care of the sword, one soldier turned round and struck Archbald on the arm, and then pushed at Merchant, cut his and grazed the skin.
