The study tested if EKG and core temperature would increase when you placed ice (down your back and in your hand) further from your body’s core. The outcome of the study was that your bodies EKG and core temperature decreased when placed further away from your body’s core. The significance of the study is that it shows people that if you place colder objects further from the core of your body, your vital signs are more likely to decrease, furthermore, the study presents an interesting question of whether if eating cold foods or drinking cold beverages would decrease your vital signs, since the foods and beverages are likely to travel downwards towards the body’s core, this can only be answered through further study of the topic.

Do your results support or reject the conclusions presented in the article you summarized for homework?
The article I summarized for homework supports the conclusions I presented.
b. What changed in terms of physiology (i.e., heart function, lung function, etc.) with your treatment? How did these changes serve the needs of your body?
In terms of physiology, my treatments displayed that the experimentee’s heart worked harder (increased heart rate, in attempt to lower heart rate) and to adjust the body’s core temperature to optimal levels. These changes served the needs of my body in the way that my heart began to run more than usual to adjust my vital signs to more optimal levels, which the changes ultimately showed that the my heart was working properly and efficiently to ensure that I kept optimal vital signs needed for survival.
c. What is the significance of your findings? That is, what is the application of your study? Does it benefit specific people and how could they use this …show more content…
The real-world application of my study is that, it helps people be more informed on if you drink cold beverages, eat cold foods, have a cold object touch you, or are in a cold environment too much your body works more to adjust itself to optimal levels. If your body does this too often, especially when you would eat cold foods, or drink cold beverages a lot, it can decrease the bodies ability to continue to perform well overtime, things unhealthy too often can have a lasting affect on your body. This study demonstrates one of the many effects cold temperatures can have on the body, short-term. This experiment does not benefit specific people, however, it is informative for individuals. I do not think the information collected can be used in many real-world aspects; it is purely informational, in my
