Most myths (as there are many different interpretations) of Egyptian, Roman, and Greek origins state that the Earth came before mankind, coinciding with what the majority of scientists believe to be true today. However, not all these accounts agree on what happened afterward. In the Egyptian Coffin Texts, the creation of humans almost always has to do with tears wept by the Lord of All. In one retelling, humans are created when the sky and Earth are separated, but other versions of the creation do not specify the time frame.
