We will learn about this ancient civilization’s remains, for instance the Great Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and artifact. Through this video we will learn about the ancient Egyptians and details about their land and everyday life. I will show this video as a motivation for my social studies lesson. This resource helped me understand the significance of certain things that Ancient Egyptians did. The civilization was entirely based on social order. Your social order determined things such as your job, responsibilities and your status; however, it was possible to move to a higher status with the right amount of money and by working your way up.

This resource contains a general overview of Ancient Egyptian culture and history. Its sections of life on the Nile, the afterlife, and the pharaohs and his people guided my understanding of the traditions. This resource also includes analyzation of ancient artifacts and the significance of the art pieces. Ancient Egyptian art portrayed hierarchical order through many different ways, one of which being that larger figures in images usually conveyed to the audience that that figure held great importance. It served to provide me with the background information that I need to teach this unit of Ancient Cairo, Egypt.
