Egg Drop Experiment
My Plan was a very simple but complicated task. My plan was to make one small triangular prism. I did this out of transparent tape (scotch tape), duct tape, and straws. First I made a small triangle that held the egg snug for maximum protection. Then I taped straws to every side of the triangle. But I tested it and it wasn’t enough off the roof of my house. So, what did I do? I reinforced the straws and made it into triple straws for more suspension. Before I dropped I was thinking of using rubber bands for suspension, the only problem was that it was too snug to fit the rubber bands in it.
I’ve seen many peoples and let me tell you a lot of them used parachutes. Some worked and some didn’t. Most of them worked with a soft

In this experiment I attempted to created and study the affects of a egg in a hypertonic and hypotonic solution. To conduct this experiment I used the following materials: cups, eggs, vinegar, corn syrup, spoons and food coloring. To begin the experiment I placed three eggs in vinegar to dissolve their shells, leaving behind a thin membrane that allowed water to pass in and out of the eggs. The water molecules enter inside the eggs and the eggs begins to swell. Once the eggs have sat in the vinegar for two days I removed one from the vinegar, washed the eggs and placed it in the corn syrup.…

The amount poured was just enough to cover the surface of each egg. Maple syrup was poured into one cup containing an egg. Tap water was poured into the second cup, containing the second egg. Saltwater, made by combining an unspecified amount of table salt and tap water, was poured into the third cup, which contained the third egg. 33 Minutes after being submerged in maple syrup, observations regarding egg B(the egg submerged in maple syrup), were recorded.…

    Physics Egg Drop Project

The egg drop project we did involved many physics principles. One of them was air resistance, which happened because the egg dropped and it accelerated, while the velocity increased. Then the resistance of the air to the egg box motion also increased, which means the upward force of air resistance balances the downward force of gravity, so the egg box dropped at a constant speed. We attached balloons to the box we made in order for the box to pass through the air while softly landing. We believe that by attaching the balloons it would have less air resistance so the box will fall quickly.…

Method: In this experiment each group received 2 chicken eggs whose shells have been dissolved off. This gave us a differentially permeable membrane so that we can observe osmosis and what happens when the membrane is presented with different solutions. Since we did not know the concentration of the egg, we had to assume that it equaled the concentration of the membrane. We then had the ability to determine the concentration based off the assumption and the rate of osmosis.…

It took one of the time frames we had for that day and we got no were. The next day is when everything ended up working. The materials that were used and seemed to work the best were simply just some rubber bands, metal poles, and some duct tape.…

Introduction- In theory, parachutes work because of the force of gravity. Gravity is a force of attraction between two objects, that is highly affected by size and proximity (gravity will have a stronger pull if the object are larger and close together). Gravity also differs from the mass of an object the more mass an object has the more gravity it will exert on the objects around it. When looking at really large masses, like the earth the gravitational pull becomes much greater because of its large mass.…

In her academic article, “The Egg and the Sperm: How Science Has Constructed a Romance Based on Stereotypical Male-Female Roles”, Emily Martin, explains in great depth the consequences that personifying science will have on society. Martin describes the inequalities between men and women that are displayed in science textbooks. The imbalances are shown most often when describing the scientific explanation of conception. Martin analyzes numerous scientific works and identifies numerous differences between describing female and male natural bodily functions, including sperm production, menstruation, conception and many other natural occurrences. Martin uses several logical fallacies and the Aristotelian appeals to solidify her argument, which…

We came up with the hypothesis that the egg would expand or break. The independent variable for this would be the corn syrup and the egg will be the dependent variable. We believed the egg would expand, because looking at what the other liquids, the made the egg expand. When the fourth day came around we observed that the egg had a dent, it felt very soft and felt lighter than before. It now weighed 64.92 grams, just a few grams less than the initial weight.…

When baby animals such as ducklings are born, they begin to identify and follow their mother around through a process called imprinting. Scientists say a duckling can imprint on its mother in as little as 15 minutes after it is hatched. Once imprinting has occurred, the duckling can follow any object, be it the mother duck or any animal, provided that it sees the object within the typical "sensitive period. " the study found that ducklings are capable of abstract thought.…
