REFLECTIVE JOURNAL 1: BOOK – Nature and Young Children by Wilson (2008)
The first reflective journal is based on a chapter one of the book entitled “Children, Creative Play, and the Natural Environment” where the author described that children loved to explore the environment as to what they play anywhere with almost anything by their surroundings. She was believed to have had to bear the pain of the broken bone alone for about three to six months. She was found in a state of trauma in addition to suffering from pneumonia that can affect breathing system. In spite of that, the parent was run away after the news reporting but spotted by the police in Thailand (Karim, 2015).
I felt sad toward what had happen to this poor child. They are not concern on their child who are still small and not yet understand about the meaning of life while leave her with lack of nutrition and affection cause her to suffered the pain for so long by herself without any treatment provided. Due to that, I think that Zaara may have the impaired brain development which led the long-term consequence. These alterations in brain maturation have affected the cognitive, language, and academic abilities and are connected with mental health disorder (Tarullo, 2012). Furthermore, what is unbearable is when she was detected to have permanent disabilities due to lack of treatment (Abd. Mutalib, 2015). We as one community also need to aware on child around us even though they are not concern on us. It is because the more a community recognizes the importance of what goes on in families during children earliest years and the amount of support parents require, the more resources can get mobilized to accomplish it (Havard Family Research Project, 2006). This is because if this perspective did not take seriously, then the children one day will give problem toward the society, such as becoming a snatcher, robber, kidnaper, or even a killer. Therefore, if we work together to control this issues, the poor child can be saved from the heartless
