Efforts To Get Rid Of Poverty In The World

More than 3 billion people including 1 billion children live in poverty. Out of these 1 billion children, 22,000 die each day and 15 of those children die each minute. Like Martin Luther King Jr had a dream of racial equality, I have a dream of no more poverty. There are so many people living in poverty today and that is an aspect of the world that deserves to be changed. There are many reasons I would like to change this. No one deserves to be living in poverty without a home, food, and all the basic necessities to live. Poverty is something that should no longer exist in the world and there are many ways to get rid of it.
Some people might have something against homeless shelters, but building more homeless shelters is one way to lower or end poverty. For example, everyone in poverty needs a home or a better home. By building more homeless shelters, the number of people in poverty would decrease. Also, many people without a home probably don’t have food or water to live either. To start, by donating food, water, or money to people in poverty, you could save lives. People in poverty are in need of food and water to survive, you could easily buy a can of soup to give dinner to someone without food and save a life. In addition, even if you didn’t have a home, getting food and water would help you survive until you got a home. If you were in poverty with your family, you would appreciate getting anything from a can of soup to a house, you could be the one to change lives and donate.
