The American Dream “The American Dream is still alive out there, and hard work will get you there. You don’t necessary need to have an ivy league education or to have millions of dollars in start up money. It can be done with an idea, hard work, and determination.” The American Dream is based on equality, success, liberty, and rights. The American Dream should not get confused with greed. Money is a major part of the American Dream, which people can get addicted to. People live for money, they kill for money, they die for money. The American Dream is a lifestyle that everyone aspires to have. How badly you want something (a dream) is the way you are going to get it. It can be achieved depending on how much effort you put into it. Are certain people at a disadvantage with their status to achieve the dream? The American dream is being able to follow your own personal calling. Many people immigrate to the United States in search for the “American Dream”. The American Dream has opportunities that drives people to push their own limits. I interviewed two people who have persuaded the American Dream and have tried achieving it no matter what prejudices they have faced. They have actually worked hard in order to attain their dreams. The meaning of the American dream to one of the people I interviewed was, “something that every American and immigrant aspires to be. It’s a lifestyle that includes having freedom, money, a good marriage, and being financial stable. The person I interviewed immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. He has worked hardly and now is economically stable, has a loving wife, and a great social life. He is very close to achieving his dream but he feels his financial stability can be
