The number of teenagers playing video games has increased rapidly in recent years. They spend much of their times on video game instead of outdoor games because it is calmer and requires less physical efforts. Though video games have benefits like increased focus and concentration, some of them are extremely violent causing the negative impact on individuals. The violent video games are very different from the real world and it has become not just a form of entertainment but for many people also the easy form for people to be away from real world and have their own virtual fantasy. The violent video games should be banned due to the negative consequences on teens.

Teenagers spend most of their time in playing violent video games and they involve them less in physical activity and have no proper diet causing malnutrition and other physical diseases. The survey population of the present study comprised 2,500 individuals aged 15–40, was randomly selected from the Norwegian National Registry by the National Tax Authorities and the study result showed that the individual involved in violent video games have elevated drug and alcohol use, reduced sleep time, limited leisure activities, and suicide ideation than the one who was not involved in gaming. It is important to aware parents and teachers about it and suggests them to monitor the video game content to avert teens from different negative consequences. They should even check the time teenagers spend on their video games. Lastly, the proper law should be made to introduce proper video gaming for the suitable age and in the proper way, so it will have less negative impact on teens. Thus, it is better to take steps as soon as possible to prevent teenagers from negative consequences of video games like physical, mental and psychosocial
