Sun reflects very strong UV light. UV light can be dangerous for humans in many ways. It can be harmful to our skin and eyes. We need to protect our eyes and skin from strong direct UV light of sun. The problem that I would like to discuss is about the effects of the UV light on skin. Sunlight can cause skin cancer. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. The most dangerous skin cancer type is called melanoma. It is a cancer of pigment(color)-producing skin cells. It is caused by both genetic risk factors and UV light from the sun or tanning beds. White skinned people can get this type of cancer more easily but it can happen to anybody. Melanoma happens even after three years you burn your skin. It will make your skin red, …show more content…
Ultra-violet light has shorter wavelengths than visible light. It can not be seen by the human eye. Most UVB is absorbed by the ozone layer in the earth’s atmosphere.99%of the ultraviolet radiation that reaches the earth’s surface is UVA. These rays come from the sun to the earth and go through our skin. Some times they give pain, some times they don’t but they can go deep and hurt us. When bare skin is exposed to sunlight, most skin will either burn or tan. The amount of UV rays reaching the Earth changes during the day. The danger period is between 10am and 3pm. When there is no cloud in the sky, we can feel maximum ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet levels are not related to the air temperature. There can be high levels of ultraviolet rays on cool days and UV rays still reach the Earth’s surface when there is cloud …show more content…
Having a cheap solution to sunburns is good for the economy. It is much cheaper to use sunscreen compared to cost of recovery from skin cancer. Everybody can use sunscreen it is very easy to apply.

Sunscreem do not protect us from skin cancer 100%. There are too many different kinds of sunscreens, sometimes it is difficult to understand which one is good for our skin. You need to re apply after two three hours. You need to reapply also after swimming.

Discuss a limitation in detail and give specific information and/or examples. Connect this limitation to one of the factors: moral, ethical, social, economic, political, cultural or environmental

When our skin is under the sun light, UV lights slowly destroy the sunscreen and we need to re apply after certain time. Especially after swimming it

The formation of Melanin in our skin as a response to the exposure to the UV light is the protective mechanism. Melanin, while protecting our skin cells is also responsible for the dark pigment of our skin. It is the same mechanism that is released when we go suntanning. The exposure to the UV light causes the skin to release melatonin, giving us the " "golden glow" many of us are after. People, who live in the northern areas of the globe, further from the Equator where the atmosphere is thicker, shielding from the radiation, do not need as much Melanin in their skin.…
