Although the Industrial Revolution had many negative effects such as child labor and poor living and working conditions, the overall long term benefits of urbanization, and the advancement of new technology outweighed the negative. Throughout the Industrial Revolution, which took place between the years 1750-1914, there was a lot of change and growth in America and Europe. Inventions in the area of machinery, and manufacturing and producing goods were created which help us today. Due to advancements in agriculture, transportation, and communication, more goods were produced quicker in a shorter amount of time, more jobs were created and there was more national wealth. The world as we know it would not be the same if the Industrial Revolution had not taken place.

The middle class had educated children, lived in nice homes, and were involved in the government. The more the Industrial Revolution grew, the more successful the middle class became.
