Technology and Social Isolation Over the past decade, has technology isolated us from the outside world? Well, technology rules our society, without it, we would be lost. Technology, for example, computers, cell phones, TVs, etc., have not been around for very long and we already rely so heavily on all of them to get us through the day. Society generally accepts technology as an essential part of everyday activities and it most definitely is crucial for us to have. It helps us find our way around, it teaches us things we would never know without it, it saves us a trip to the library, we can basically access everything from the palm of our hands. There good and bad aspects of technology and the bad can socially drain you from society. For this reason, many researchers suggest that people sit down their devices for a while and experience the world without it for a change. It can create anxiety in us that can go unnoticed without someone actually telling us. Overall, there has been research studies done on this very topic and it shows negative side-effects on the general public and how they use technology to their liking.
