The emerging era of technology and advancements has brought many privileges for the working sector as well as unwanted liabilities too. One of the many unwanted liabilities is the Occupational stress which has grasped the attention of many over the past few decades. Stress at work is seen as a major cost by organization because it affects employee performance, notably through absenteeism and presenteeism (the practice of attending work even when employees feel too ill to be able to work effectively). Performance if defined can be understood as the ability to perform, in other words “Efficiency”.

It may be caused by inadequate guidance and support from superiors, lack of encouragement from superiors, lack of consultation and communication, discrimination and favoritism, feelings of isolation, difficulties in keeping up with new technologies,
ideas, technology or innovations in organizations, attending meetings, lack of social support by people at work and inadequate or poor quality training/management development. Whatever the cause of stress is, the negative effect of it will definitely be a considerable low efficiency.
Some of the many aftereffects of this occupational stress includes low motivation and morale, lack of energy, high turnover, sick leave, accidents, low job satisfaction, inability of making decision, low quality products and services, poor internal communication and conflicts and many health affecting problems. This research study attempts to explore the effects of job stress (Independent variable) on job performance (dependent variable) through data collected from many organizations. This will help in having a clear view of the causes and effects. To conclude the research, many suggestions are made as to how to overcome and reduce occupational stress and expand employees performance as much as possible.
This research study is outlined as follows. The first section give the detailed introduction. The second section reviews the existing literature. The third section describes the research methodology. The fourth section has analysis of current study. The last section finalizes the results of this study, also presents the suggestions and conclusion of this study.
