Housing is one from the essential human rights. As housing is the basis of security and stability for any individual. Everyone has a right to access to a secure, safe and habitable home without any worries. But unfortunately, a lot of people cannot afford formal housing. So they were forced to live in the poorest quality houses which are in slums. According to Sclar (2003), Slums dwellers suffer from life threatening conditions because of the incapacity of maintaining their own health. In slums there is lack of water, sanitation and drainage. In addition, United Nations (2003) stated that the shortage of waste disposal and poor air quality due to the poor ventilation harm the health of slum dwellers. Now, it is the time for wealthy people to take action because they can play an effective role in solving this problem. A lot of wealthy people own several comfortable and formal houses that are left empty without anyone living in them for years. On the other hand, a lot of poor families with young children have to suffer and live in informal houses that are in slums. Their lives are full of fears from losing their house or catching dangerous diseases. However, their future could change if each wealthy man stop being selfish and donates one of his houses to a poor family. In other words, those donated formal houses could help a lot of families to live a better life and could decrease the number of people living in slum.
