While I am aware that I should be conducting my own research and searching additional sources, I figured I should review his sources since he does teach the topic. So far I have only been able to review Mother of Intervention: Women in the Slave Holding South in the American Civil War, written by Drew Gilphin Faust. This book contains the memoirs and historical information about slave holding women, and is full of quotes from women 's diaries and offers multiple perspectives about the Confederacy of the United States. The other source that I have begun reviewing is Civil War America : Burying the Dead but Not the Past : Ladies ' Memorial Associations and the Lost Cause, by Jannie, Caroline E. These roadblocks are what is currently preventing my work on the paper. My main roadblock is that due to the nature of my research, which primarily deals with revisionist history and searching for the true origins of groups like the Daughters of the Confederacy, and other Civil War revisionist groups, this is because they have most likely erased and or revised their own origins much like they have been doing to the Confederacy. I have also debated whether or not to include current events in this paper that were caused by history revision such as how textbooks now refer to the war being fought over “State Rights” how the confederate battle flag is not a symbol of racism, and discrimination. I am also working on locating sources about how Women coped with their husband’s departure from their land them being forced to run their plantation, similar to the character Aba, a character from the historical fiction novel Cold Mountain written by Charles Fraizer, who was a well-educated southern women who was married to a confederate soldier, but instead she is forced to run the entire plantation and keep control of her slaves. I should be able to move past these issues once I have done more research on the subjects mentioned above and have begun planning out the
