RACISM IN OUR SOCIETIES TODAY Increasing intellectual and interracial communication and collaboration in a globalized world will hasten the aid of racism around the globe (Dulitzky,2005). Throughout world history, governments have neglected and violated human and civil rights of their citizens, they demonstrate this regard through customs, etiquette and racial systems that deny human dignity and respect. It is a phenomenon expressed at the dimension of society, group’s individuals and institutions, when a seed of hatred and ethnocentrism are planted and forested in society it affects the area of life hence devastating to a country and its culture(Dulitzky,2005). Racism is everywhere in our societies today ,we see differences in wealth, power and status which brings about social stratification this on the other hand brings about prejudice ,at our work places wage discrimination exists where by an employer pays a woman less than a woman for the same work. Secondly, some people don’t get employed because they are judged to be inferior ;A researcher sent pairs of college men to apply for 350 entry level jobs, the men comprised of African-Americans and Americans, on each team there were men who had served jail term ,the …show more content…
Secondly, by being mindful of the commonalities that human share and practice empathy; we owe each other to fight for an equal and just society for all .Lastly at individual level we can listen to, validate rally with people who report personal and systematic racism. Most people of color reports that whites do not take claim of racism seriously; it’s time to stop defending the idea and embrace the idea (Charles,
