Police corruption affects more than the citizens, it also affects the law enforcement. Many things has changed in the system, but one thing that is still occurring today is the corruption of police officers. The James Brissette case involved the shooting of multiple black men at Danziger Bridge, but the death of James. The officers Robert, Kenneth, and Anthony shot at the men and called for backup saying the men were shooting at them, which led to the death of James and injuries of the others. After gaining knowledge about the James Brissette story, I think that police corruption is starting to become an effect on the society today because of the many different cases of police corruption. I feel that the incident was very brutal and unfair, but it is fair that each of the officers served their time for what they had done. Police officers do have a dangerous jobs and they do not always keep our citizens safe, because they are often shooting the citizens without probable cause. I also think that police officers should have a camera on them at all times to see what goes on in every situation, because cops has been unfair to those of the opposite color. What aspect motivates police corruption? In my opinion, I think it is the power that the police officers have. I think that when they were granted the power that they have they thought of it as being more than what it really is. Having too much power is corrupting the mind of the police officers.
