Obese City Throughout time a lot has changed in American society such as, natural resources, money income, and many other essentials. One occurrence that has changed significantly in the United States is the weight class of the American population. Why is it that the weight class is increasing, and why is it moving at such a rapid pace? Weight gain in America has a lot to do with people’s eating habits, uneducated parents that rely on inconvenient alternatives, poor exercise, and a lack of curricular activities. What is the severity to these risks? For example, some symptoms of poor self-esteem are fear, anxiety, lack of self confidence, poor relationship and social skill, and eventually lead to depression. Depression is a serious issue because it effects your mood, your energy, your interest, and your motivation in life. As a result, it can eventually lead to suicide. But there are also long-term health effect and adult health problems to child obesity. In the long run, child obesity will result in adult health problems such as cancer, strokes or heart disease, type two diabetes, and osteoarthritis. Obesity can increase many types of cancer, including, breast, colon, endometrium, esophagus, kidney, pancreas, gall bladder, thyroid, ovary, and cervix (National Center for Health Statistics, 2012). These health issues will eventually become expensive and unaffordable to pay for over the counter and prescribed medicine, doctor visitations, and other health needed resources. Being obese can lead to being disabled and will become a domino effect to your life. Sooner or later the disability will lead to unemployment and unemployment will lead to not being able to pay bills, or your mortgage, and at length foreclosure to your home of residence or even end up in bankruptcy.
