Is Marriage Out of Date in Today’s Society? I believe that marriage in today’s society is out of date. It is not what it used to be anymore. How is it that our grandparents, that have been with one another for decades now, still manage to have love for one another and stand strong together? Couples now a day can hardly last a few years together. They can barley last even a few months. Seems as if this generation just does not care anymore. Looks like this could be the generation that ends marriage for good. With divorce rates sky rocking now a day, this would not be a surprise. All of these are a fun way to express a relationship with an individual to friends or family or other people. They can cause good effects to a relationship but they can also cause negative effects. These medias have caused cheating and trust issues in relationships. Social media makes it easier to keep in touch with anyone, for an example an ex girlfriend or boyfriend. And all that have caused trust issues. My cousin dated a girl for a few years and one day he found out that his girlfriend had added her ex boyfriend on Instagram (an app that allows you to post up pictures). He asked her why she added him and all she said is that he had nothing to worry about. That little thing caused suspicion in their relationship. He finds out later on that they had been talking for a while now and she had cheated on him. Point is that social media have cause many problems like this one and will continue too. All these apps and media also make it easier to cheat on a person because there are many different ways to meet people now. An app called “Badoo”, is an app where people see each other pictures and if they like each other, they can start messaging each other on that app. An article called, “ Badoo: Social Experiment or Hookup Site?” says that this app also has location services which means that it will search for anyone near you that wants to basically you can say “hookup”.
