Although, ambition can be like strength for people, manipulation is like an exploiting manner of getting things done. Manipulating actions root from the selfishness and cruelness of a person; they can manipulate others emotionally and psychologically, using others’ weaknesses to get what they want. Lady Macbeth swiftly realizes that the only way that she can get Macbeth to agree on the plan will be through manipulation because she knows that his kind heart will prevent them from obtaining such luxury and power. In this quote, Lady Macbeth speaks of how she will manipulate Macbeth; “That I may pour..crowned withal.” (I,v,ll 29-33) She wants to Macbeth to pursue this plan and have him believe that this is the best for them both, but she does not give this goal enough thought, that there is a risk of damaging their relationship. Using his desires as a veil to blind his morals, shows how Lady Macbeth starts to take advantage of their close relationship and Macbeth’s love for her. She takes advantage of his love by questioning his love his love for her, his manliness, his loyalty to her, his word and commitment to her, and his braveness and courage. When questioning him, she tells Macbeth that she would rather kill her her own child while breastfeeding it than ever breaking a promise to him. All these words hurt Macbeth because he loves his wife profoundly, and would do anything for her. In this quote, Lady Macbeth manipulates Macbeth; “What beast was’t.. quell?” (I,vii,ll 53-80) Lady Macbeth knows all of Macbeth’s weakness and tugs on them like strings, causing Macbeth to plan a murder with his wife and determined on killing his friend. Lady Macbeth’s actions are no longer of a loving wife, but rather of a person wanting power and a title. Her toxic intentions cause a reverse in power, Macbeth doing what his wife wants and Lady
