Legalization of Marijuana
Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug used Worldwide and Canada has the highest rates of such use. Canadian Government is looking forward to legalize marijuana use for recreational purposes by the end of 2018. It is in controversy that it should or should not be legalized in Canada (Teplin). Marijuana should be legalized because it is a major source of revenue for the government, it will help reduce drug related crime as people can legally buy it from the government, and it has very few negative effects on health.

The illegal market won’t make that much money they used to earn before the legalization of marijuana and there will be less use of hard drugs. Less people are going to be aware of hard drugs because by purchasing it from the legal stores they won’t have knowledge of hard drugs. The people who believe that marijuana opens way to other illegal drugs if it will be sold legally then the drugs lords cannot force people to have other illegal drugs such as heroine and other hard drugs. “illegal purchase of marijuana exposes consumers to dealers who push the hard stuff”
