When we are afraid we go in a flight or fight mode. Meaning that we are ready to take down the object that is frightening us or were about to run from the object. These fears are unpleasant because there is a better possibility of them happening rather than a monster being under a person’s bed. There are many natural fears. Some are an object, but they are mostly alternatives. The top 10 natural fears are, that person losing their freedom, the unknown, pain, disappointment, misery, loneliness, ridicule, rejection, death, and failure. Freedom is not a usual fear a person would think of, but that person might experience it when grounded in their room or locked in a place where there is no way out. Another great example is when that person is getting married. He or she might feel that they are trapped in that relationship once they say “I do”. The unknown is a common fear because people feel that in order to have control in the situation they must know what is going on or in front of them, so that they can change the results. Pain is also common fear because not a lot of people take joy in being in pain. Disappointment is not pleasant because people feel like they have failed when they disappoint someone they love. Misery is alarming because it is people’s human nature to want to have joy in their lives. Loneliness is a natural fear because when people want their actions to be seen or noticed. Also peoples’ survival modes kicks in and they realize that they are most likely to survive in a group. Ridicule is not the best because most people care what other people think of them, especially close ones, and ridicule means that the person is rejecting that person due to their image. Rejection is a fear because most of the time people believe that they need the acceptance of others to be acceptable. To most people death is so unbearable. People fear death because it’s linked to the fear of the unknown. Failure is the last fear because people fear that no matter what they do they will fail, and failure is linked to disappointment. Natural fears are very normal to
