Effects Exercise has on a Student’s Life Impressionable students are very impressionable and often go through phases where they feel extreme bouts of self-loathing and inadequacy compared to other students. These feelings of self-loathing and inadequacy often results from their physical appearances or their inability to contribute fully to sports that they participate in, and often lead to a lack of confidence. Confidence and other attributes can be acquired through exercise, but in order to accomplish their goals they will have to do something that many Americans and students in general refuse to do. They will have to exercise. Exercise is hard work and often times students would rather cheat by using drugs to improve themselves or their social life, but drugs often have many long term effects that will lead to more harm than good. Exercising at least once a week improves mood in the same way that many anti-depression medication works by releasing endorphins that causes a student to become more cheerful and alert. This more cheerful and alert domineer is caused by a chemical reaction that releases an endorphin into the blood that makes it easier for a person to run greater distances without feeling tired. As stated in The Effects of Exercise on the Brain by Mk McGovern, “Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins within approximately 30 minutes from the start of activity. These endorphins tend to minimize the discomfort of exercise and are even associated with a feeling of euphoria.” This chemical reaction will stay in the blood for an extended period of time, which will lead to a better mood throughout the day. Once a student begins to exercise every day on regular bases their levels of this endorphin stay at an elevated level, which can improve their mood over a longer period of
