In the Schramski’s article, the analogy of an “Earth-space battery” was used to explain the future of energy for the planet Earth in relation to mankind. This was used to explain how millions of years ago the production of biomass was created and gradually “charged” this battery. Due to recent circumstances, the battery is being drained at a rate much greater than being charged. In other words, the consumption of energy by mankind has increased drastically as a result of the need to develop society and the economy. This massive usage has already affect the Earth and will continue to long after the extinction of humans. Already humans have mined most of the rich mineral deposits on Earth.
