Introduction
Domestic Violence is a form of behavior that allows control and authority over another person. Family violence can be physical, sexual, economic, emotional and psychological abuse, which affects the entire household. There are short and long-term effects for victims and witnesses of domestic violence. Witnesses of domestic violence are affected just as much as the victims who are battered. Children who are exposed to violent behavior have many health and mental health. Children who are exposed to violence are at risk for problems with their physical health, behavior, depression, PTSD, anxiety disorders and emotional imbalance.

The attempt to crawl, walk or speak is affected by the conflicts in the home. The ability to naturally develop these skill as affected by and withdraws the brain activity. Trauma affects the brain.
Sleeping is a hassle for infants and young children, they have nightmares about the violence. They also find it hard to be away from their mother if she is the victim. Children find it hard to settle down for bedtime to fall asleep. Researchers find that the sleep pattern is disrupted by the violent household. Nightmares and night fears are common because the children see the violent behavior during sleep. Sleep disruptions are caused from the trauma which interrupts the sense of security. The aftermath of violence and abuse potty-training as well. Young children normal development is impacted. They start wetting the bed after being fully potty-trained.
The physical well-being of a child exposed to domestic violence also affects the psychosocial abilities of the child.
