According to a past research it is proven that the deterrent effect has a temporary effect, where the fear it instils last only for the moment and period and is forgotten after some duration of time. Similarly, these research results prove that the so called effect of deterrence has no upper hand in terms of effectiveness compared to other forms of punishments such as life imprisonment and life sanctions. Another argument is that capital punishment ends up filling the relatives of those punished with immense fury to the extent of some committing the same crimes while seeking revenge for their loved ones.
