Homelessness is more prone to develop COPD due to environmental exposures, malnutrition, and smoking. Despite the high prevalence and poor health among homeless, many do not receive medical care for their respiratory condition. Use of cigarettes, cigars, and tobacco are popular amongst the homeless. Smoking, infections, malnutrition, drug and alcohol use, and poor access to care. Health care is perceived as an essential for all homeless individuals. Internal computer chips to monitor capnography in the inner city homeless could identify the interventional needs of this vulnerable population allowing provision of care.
