A government’s economy is always a big important part of any country. People should always take in consideration the effect of what they are doing. Especially the effect is going to have in the economy. People should pay attention on the effect something is going to have in the economy because it usually ends up having an indirect effect on everyone who is part of the country. For example there are many people who support capital punishment but how does effect the United States economy. Capital punishments harms the United States economy.
Capital punishment causes a trial to become more expensive. For example in Kansas a 2003 legislative audit found out that the estimated cost of a capital punishment case cost seventy percent more than a similar non capital punishment

This can cause a reduction in the resources available for crime prevention, mental health treatment, rehabilitation and education. The money needed for the capital punishment cases can also be diverted from other cases in the justice system. This might include the prosecution of drug crimes, child abuse and domestic violence. As a result the capital punishment diverts resources from genuine crime control measures. The capital punishment has a huge impact on the government economy which directly affect everyone in the United States. Although it might not be a direct effect capital punishment does eventually affect everyone even kids. The high costs of capital punishment causes the government to cut back in expenses in other parts of the government. One of the examples were a reduction of resources is in education. This directly affects the quality of education kids can have.
