Abstract - Kids who play immoderate video game leads to health problems. Children frequently using of gaming gadgets increases bad behavior and negative effects on health like obesity, muscular, skeletal disorders, nerve compression, tendonitis.
Children playing inadequate violent video games have the chances of aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and decreased prosocial helping, according to a scientific study.
The aim of the paper is to track the brain activity during video gaming.
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a technique for evaluating and recording the electrical activity of the brain. By means of electrodes attached to the skull of a patient, the brain waves can be picked up and recorded.
When these cells are electrically or neurologically activated, the signals can be analyzed to detect medical abnormalities, activation level and recruitment order or to analyze the brain waves of human.
Index Terms: video game, Electroencephalography.

Some child psychologists and family groups argue violent and mature video games negatively affect children. Parents who complain that video games are harmful may now have proof. A number of studies have linked video game usage to negative behavior in children and adolescents. Video game supporters cite studies that show benefits, and encourage better parental supervision. The truth may lie somewhere between; like most things, video games should be enjoyed in moderation. Proper supervision over content could avoid many of the negative side effects, while taking advantage of the positive

Electroencephalogram (EEG) used to measure abnormalities in the brain which related to electrical activity (Fig.1). This measurement tracks and records brain wave patterns by using electrodes are placed on the scalp, and then signals go to a computer to record the results. Abnormal patterns in EEG indicate seizures and other problems [3][6]. The importance reason for using EEG is to diagnose and show seizure disorders.…

In the article, “Brains on Video Games,”(Bavelier et al., 2011) six psychologists from various universities, collaborated their research findings on the impact of playing action packed video games can have on children’s ability to think and learn, and how it impacts their behavior towards others. In my essay, I will include the results of two out of the six studies, as well as my personal involvements with purchasing and playing action-packed video games. Daphne Bavelier and C. Shawn Green (2011) concluded in their findings a “wide range of behavioral benefits, including enhancements in low-level vision, visual attention, speed of processing and statistical inference.” (2011) Obviously, the more time children spent playing these action videos,…

Daphne Bavelier and C. Shawn Green discuss in “The Brain-boosting Power of Video Games” that “When we began our studies, playing fast-paced ‘shooter’ video games was not high on any scientist’s list of brain-enhancing activities …we and other researchers have found that video-game play boost a variety of cognitive skills” (par.10.). What Bavelier and Green have discovered is they considered violent videogames to be a learning device for the brain. Having cognitive skills can help teens further improve their bodies more and by playing violent videogames in particular have more positive effects on teens than those who did not play violent videogames. Violent videogames are not just made for the violence, sex, drugs and gore, but rather it’s made to be learning tool about the world they live…

Recent advances in brain-imaging technology have allowed researchers to study the brain at the bioloigcal level of analysis (BLOA). The MRI, fMRI, PET, and CAT are some of the most elaborate brain technologies used today. They are especially important in neuropsychology, in that they have allowed researchers to study the theory of localization of function, which states that for every human function there is a physical correlate in the brain. Each scanner is unique to specific cases and has its advantages and disadvantages. This essay will discuss these different imageing technologies and how they have contributed to the field of neuroscience.…

Brain waves are patterns of electrical brain activity. Brain cells can communicate with each other by electricity and chemicals called neurotransmitters. The electrical activity of the brain is measured by a test called the electroencephalogram (EEG). For this test, tiny metal discs called electrodes are painlessly stuck to the scalp. These electrodes can pick up the electrical impulses of the brain, which pass…

According to Erin C. Hasting in his article ‘’Young children /Computer Game use relation with school performance and behavior” they had done a research and found out that the amount of time spent per week playing video/computer games was negatively correlated with school performance .They also explain that the attention spent in class for students had dropped and also found out that video game playing was significantly negatively correlated with school GPA.[Anderson &Bushman ,2004] also suggests that the amount of time spend playing video games exposure to violence in video games are associated with lower performance and attention problems in schools .These shows clearly that in some video games especially when kids spend a lot of their time like 40 hours per week playing these kind of games in order to complete the task of the game they put more concentration on these games and forgetting doing their homework which is more useful in their life on time. This becomes a problem which needs to solve and find new ways of doing educational things that will help them do better in…

Parents need to become more knowledgeable of content and exert greater supervision over the games their children are playing. In a study performed by Woodard and Gridina, they stated that, “While most parents (88%) report regularly supervising their children’s use of television, only about half (48%) report regularly supervising their children’s use of video games” (Woodard & Gridina). Why are parents worried about the programs that are on television more than the content in video games? Have parents become desensitized to the content of the video games which causes little worry of long term effects? With hundreds of theories that state why youth gun violence has become a major problem, it is hard to simply explain the correct answer.…

Why play video games to pass the time when the body is being deprived of essential vitamins because it’s not outside? Why deliberately subject children to violent games that famous sociopaths have freely admitted to using to assist them in planning murders and other heinous acts of crime? Some of the negative side effects of video games may not be able to be seen and recognized immediately (most aren’t, in fact) but over time, they can be seen.…
