Stress is caused by many different factors such as troubling thoughts, tragic events, or other hardships. Contrary to belief, adults are not the only ones who can experience high levels of stress. Children and teens from all ages can experience stress as well. On many occasions, children and teens feel pressured due to academic expectations imposed on them. Although, occasional stress is inevitable, constant stress can lead to anxiety. Therefore, on many occasions the anxiety begins to cause negative symptoms. Recently, social media has become an extraordinary source of communication that allows people to communicate with others instantly without needing to be face to face. While, it can be extremely beneficial in a work-setting, long-distance business meetings, web seminars, etc. It has affected the ability of people to interact and communicate effectively. The negative effects of social media become apparent when a student avoids face to face interactions. Some people would rather text or skype rather than speak to a group of people because it causes them anxiety. People with anxiety often have trouble communicating with others because they are focused on their troubling thoughts. Pierce found that “the more the students spent using online communication methods, the more likely they were to show symptoms of anxiety about communicating face-to-face” (Ossola). This shows that students with anxiety have trouble communicating with others face to face and are lacking social skills that are important to have not only in school but beyond that environment such as the work-force. Anxiety is a big problem that affect people with it tremendously by knowing and allowing them to perform to the best of their ability in school, causing them to have trouble sleeping, concentrating and communicate with others properly. In the United States alone anxiety disorder account for 14.2% of high school dropouts and 4.7% of college dropouts (Mazzone). Learning habits to combat academic stress can bring benefits beyond the classroom. Therefore, school should to have simple psychological interventions to help children 's minds and the meaning they find in life without all the stress and live a emotionally balanced
