Americanization In Europe Essay

Americanization in Europe Living in America we have become accustomed to living life the “American Way. ”Everything around us is presented with the idea that it is American made, and a privilege to have. American culture is not only present here, but has made its presence known in most countries, and nations around the world, including those in Europe. The presence of American culture in Europe has caused problems amongst some Europeans making them feel like they have fallen victim to Americanization. Although some Europeans feel a sense of indifference about the thought of American culture taking over, Americanization has helped our Country continue to progress and grow in connection with Europe. Without American creations such as the Iphone, World Wide Web, and Search engines we would not be able to grow and connect with one another as freely as we can today. A prime example of how these things have helped us connect is when the American Company Netscape went public (Friedman 37). The creation of Netscape did two things, brought internet alive by giving the world the browser to display images and data stored on website, and data stored on websites. Netscape also triggered the dot-com boom (Friedman 37). The Netscape revolution was able to bring people-to-people connectivity to a whole new level (Friedman 37). Prior to Netscape, communications between different countries was no where near as easy as it is now. Another perk of the present day Americanization movement was the creation of the Iphone. The Iphone, which started as an American product has made its way into almost every country in the world. The Iphone has not only increased opportunities for communication around the world, but has also helped with employment in European countries. A lot of the small pieces used to make the Iphone are made in European countries such as Germany, meaning those in that country have more employment
