There are many things that go into being interpersonally social. Among the nine intelligences, I believe I fit interpersonal intelligence the best. What does interpersonal intelligence mean? It means I am “people smart” or as Howard Gardner says, “Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to understand and interact effectively with others. It involves effective verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to note distinctions among others, sensitivity to the moods and temperaments of others, and the ability to entertain multiple perspectives… Young adults with this kind of intelligence are leaders among their peers, are good at communicating, and seem to understand others’ feelings and motives." (Howard Gardner). I 've found that I am good at communicating and have an understanding of other people 's feeling and motives because of my upbringing. Overall, this fits the person I am.. How does one become interpersonally social? I think that I have become this way because I have always been around many people. I have a very big family that I am around a lot. Having a big family has pushed me to be very interactive. When I was younger my parents liked to have their friends over for dinner. I would play upstairs and try my best not be too noisy. Once I heard the doorbell ring I waited for my mom to come upstairs and tell me I had to go down and say hello. To be honest, at the time, I hated it.
