Experience: I was a staff member for around 8 months, and during that time I learned so much about Omega’s way of moderation. I learned how to detect hackers with blatant head snaps and other detections, answers to questions and concerns many players may have for game modes or the server in general, and much more. I know many of the basic punishment commands for rule-breakers, such as /warn [User] [Reason], /kick [User] [Reason], /ban [User] [Reason] (Time), and many other basic punishments. I also know a few useful commands for staff, such as /staff to figure out what game modes to moderate on and other commands. I didn’t know much about event preparation, testing, and just the general ideas. However, during the summer, I was told that non-staff could help with events. This gave me the idea of having a Needle in the Haystack 2.0 event. I have been working on that event since September, and I learned a lot during that time. I learned about flags, regions, command blocks, building tips, and a lot of information that can make future events I help with more successful.
And I know all the regular information that a person must know before applying. Some of the major points already apply to me.
“You will be required to have recording software, screenshot software, and an ability to upload evidence to YouTube.”: I still have my recording software, Fraps, working. However, my FPS can get a bit lowered while recording, but noticing the hacks of the player can be seen. My screenshot software is ShareX, which is similar to Lightshot. The only problem would be the YouTube upload time. I am still trying to figure out a way to increase upload time.
“Being a staff member will mean you have to prioritise moderating over actual playing of the server.”: As I said, most servers I come on to, I just like communicating with friends. The only game modes I actually “play” on are Universe and KitPvP. It is easy for me to do both,
