Effective Communication Interview

Decent Essays
For my interview, I chose to incorporate someone in business administration to help me gather more information regarding effective communication. My personal career choice is nursing, and since there are so many diverse cultures that come along with nursing, I believe getting someone’s opinion that works with a widely diverse corporation would be a great source to learn from.

For the informational interview I contacted a family friend Rebecca Gray Detling who is an executive sales manager with ICH Global LLC. I first just started off asking Rebecca on what she majored in college, how it prepared her for her job, what courses were the most valuable, and what class she wished she would have taken while in school. While in college Rebecca majored in physical therapy and had a minor in finance because she knew she wanted a future in the business field while helping out people in the medical field. Once out of college though she said that the most valuable class she took was a little of every class because with a career in the medical field, sales, and finance not one class is better than the other but a little of each class was extremely valuable.…

In comparison with non-directive counseling, it's more focused and goal-directed. It goes away from traditional client-centered therapy through this use of direction, in which therapists attempt to influence clients to consider making changes, rather than non-directively explore themselves.[1]…
