As the newly elected president of the United States you will be held to a high standard and you must work hard to fulfill your expectations of an efficient, powerful, yet kind President. To become the leader this Country is in dire need of you must look to the past and learn from the mistakes and accomplishments of past Presidents and prominent leaders. But first, you must look within yourself and become advertently aware of your morals and values. What do you consider to be effective and ineffective ways of running a country? However, you must skilled in the art of negotiation and communication. Effective communication is a key principal to becoming an effective leader. You are responsible for communicating with other countries and developing meaningful relations with some of the worlds’ most influential people in order to maintain peace. Leaders you are likely to encounter may have more experience in these situations and therefore are likely to pick up on subtle cues of dishonesty so it is important that you are honest and actively engaged. You will frequently indulge in negotiation with other countries and members of congress. Mastering the skill of negotiation will positively influence the outcome of negotiations. Your actions should be guided by morality and should not seek to exclude or alienate people based on culture or ethnicity. America is considered by many to be “great” because this is a place of freedom and opportunity. It offers a chance for people from all over the globe to come, work hard, and be successful. Building structures that would attempt to separate “us” from “them” is a huge step back towards segregation and discrimination. Not only would this structure hinder relationships between Mexico and the USA but it would also affect the lives of many Mexican Americans. Building this wall would be dehumanizing to Mexican Americans who have come here in search of a better life, who work hard, and deserve to be treated as equals not as an outcast. There has also been a posed policy that aims to ban travel to the USA from seven Muslim countries. I urge you to look back in history and see the commonalities between these posed actions and the actions of past leaders like Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain and Adolf Hitler of Germany. These names are associated with cruelty and inhumane acts. You must work to be nothing like them. Isabella forced Muslims and Jews out of Spain and Adolf Hitler sought to eliminate an entire race.
