1. What you were hoping to learn about when you began the course?
As an international student, English is my second language which is somehow my weak part. I am pushing myself to immerse into the language environment and acquire more communication skills as fast as I can. I was afraid to stand up in front of the class or public to give a talk before I began this class.
By attending this course, I hope to pull out my confident part and achieve the following goals:
A. Talk freely and naturally in front of many people.
B. Practice the skills appropriate to a variety of relationships and cultures
C. Speak with confidence and clarity on important topics.
D. Use English like mother language to achieve professional success.

Communication is everywhere, no one can avoid it. By learning effective communication skills, I could improve the way I see myself and also the way others see me. From talking and listening to classmates, I learnt so many new knowledge what I never heard about. And through giving the speech in front of class, I found myself much more confident to communicate with others and become more open to the topics.

3. What you learned about yourself as a communicator.
To be a competent communicator, I learnt that how I can be concentrated to understand and catch a large number of messages at any time. How I should be sensitive and responsive to other communicators. How I should listen effectively and respond appropriately. I think during a conversation, to be an ethical listener is very important.
