The IDNR is paying fisherman to go out and just fish for Asian Carp (Mertens,2011). It does not take much to fish for these fish. Currently there are no regulations on carp. All methods of fishing are aloud for Asian carp, such as bow fishing and spear-gun (Pickhartz, 2014).
There was even a bill proposed to allow shotguns to be used on Asian carp while in in boat (Love, 2012). Redneck fishing tournaments are another method of control they take place all different waterways where Asian carp have been able to take over (Crossest, 2010).
