Edwin Thomas Booth was born on November 13, 1833 in Bel Air, Maryland. He was named after this father´s two colleagues. Their names were Edwin Forrest and Thomas Flynn. He would be the second oldest of the four in his family. Junius Jr. was the oldest, John was behind him, and his sister Asia was the youngest. He grew up on a farm in Maryland. Later over the years, his brother´s and him decided to work as actors. They all became good and talented, except when they started, especially Edwin. His father first saw him perform live for the first time and people in the audience and his father wasn't really impressed by his first performance. He did not do so well. He began acting all over again in 1857. It was then that he earned his accolades as a great actor. Out of the three brothers, Edwin was the most successful. He was well known for his acting. He mostly did acting on Hamlet. He is the only actor who had only done Hamlet countless times. Edwin married Mary Devlin in 1863, they had one daughter named Edwina. Mary would later die in 1865. Apparently, Edwin happened to save Abraham Lincoln´s son without knowing he was Lincoln´s son. Robert was the son that Edwin had saved. Robert´s foot slipped and he began to fall as the train was coming. Edwin grabbed him by the collar and yanked him back. Robert gradually thanked him as he knew who the famous actor was. It was only a few months away that Abraham Lincoln would be killed. In 1865, Edwin decided to perform for Abraham Lincoln after they had won the war against the South. His brother John Wilkes Booth knew this was gonna happen so he planned to assassinate Lincoln. During this performance. Edwin didn't know about such thing and John had shot the president. The next morning, Edwin would know that the president had been shot and killed by his brother
